Never Overestimate

You think your market knows... but they don't. They can know about the product in general, but there are certain things that unless communicated, will lead to no response from your marketing. Here's what they are.

In marketing, we usually overestimate our audiences

When they consume our content, we think they know:

  • Why taking action now matters

  • What to do after consuming the ad

  • Why is the problem important enough to solve

“We are the best in the market. 20 years experience. High quality…”

Leading to no responses

When you are writing a piece of content, think about:

  • What were they thinking before they come across your content

  • How their mindset Changes after consuming your content

  • Is that enough for them to take the action you want

I recently audit a ‘Free boiler check’ ad on meta. It’s cool, but there was no reason why it’s a good time to get it checked now. (Unless people culturally do this at a certain season)

Think about if the info you have on the ad, will convince them to take action.

If yes, it’s worth a test

If not, should go back and see why.

Success in marketing is math.
