The Odd Red Flag

Potential clients can have red flags. Could be a fraud, can't pay, etc. But there's one that can easily be ignored, and can damage you. Learn what that is.

As a business owner, we both know we can't close every client because of qualification:

They can't pay
They won't benefit from our product
They are acting sketchy

But, there is one more red flag that I don't see more people talk about

And even if you don't run projects in which customers are directly involved, you should be aware of this

My mentor told me about this, but I experienced this first hand.

When I used to visit business owners in person, you would get a lot of insight in who they are

The way they talk. What they talk about. How they describe their problems. What they ask for.

All direct to this core factor.

> Personality

If you have a product, and someone wants it, take the money and give it.

But...

If success to the point where you get paid depends on their input, and you realise that their personality can cause problems, don't work with them

One dentist was getting excited of selling a cheaper teeth whitening kit and how it had more profit... (

I got 25 showroom visitors in 15 days, but the owner declared the whole campaign as a failure because he couldn't close

I learnt how personalities can effect whether you make a sale or not, but this shows how it plays out.

Now, if you can deal with people having a certain personality, good for you.

But, if someone is too much gone, you don't have to work with them

There are some people that will ask for discounts again and again, and will also try to get A grade service, and leave a 3 star review because you didn't do a flawless job

They are a mess!

So, personality is one of an odd red flag that no one talks about

But it does play an important role.

Be aware of it. See if you can work with it. If the clients involvement will be problematic based on this specific character trait. And decide.

(BTW, if you usually get low quality leads, you can improve it with good marketing)
